FOREIGN MISSIONS

The Foreign Missions Steering Team oversees, manages and supports the Foreign Missions Teams of the Sugar Grove Church.

Teams are being developed with a renewed emphasis of providing personal relationship and service to our missionary families.

Our theme is THE GREAT COMMISSION, taken from the words of Jesus in Matthew 28, "Go therefore and teach all nations..." This command is at the very heart of the purpose and work of our missionaries, to teach the world about Jesus.

Our purpose is to provide spiritual, emotional and financial support to our missionary families in the field.

The Sugar Grove congregation has been blessed with the association of many wonderful missionaries and their families over the years. We currently provide all or partial support for the following families in Central and South America, and the Philippines:

  • The Ferrarese Family - Córdoba, Argentina
  • The Lopez Family - Santiago, Dominican Republic
  • The Martinez Family - Choluteca, Honduras
  • The Emperado Family - Cebu City, Philippines
  • The Simpson Family - Cebu City, Philippines

Although Sugar Grove provides regular budget support for our missionary families, about 40% of the annual costs must be raised by the Missions Committee. We recognize a number of areas in which these families are in need of additional support:

  • Completion of the church building currently under construction in Argentina
  • Evangelistic working funds for the churches
  • Health insurance
  • School funding for their children
  • Retirement funding
  • VISA renewal expenses
  • Daily living expenses
  • Bringing a mission family home to Sugar Grove each year

Our goal for the the year of 2009 is to enable our mission families to meet their basic living needs and to assist with their dedicated profession in life, the teaching of the gospel of Christ.

YOUR role in this is much more than financial. YOUR SUPPORT will play an essential part in spreading the words of Jesus to "all nations."
