Why Membership?
-
God is active in our world and actively leads and guides our lives. Consequently we trust that he also intentionally places people together to form the local body of Christ. His purpose in placing us together is is more than participation in a Sunday worship service- He places us together to develop Christian community so that we can encourage and help each other on the faith journey through life.
-
There is a spiritual battle that is raging for our soul. Consequently many spiritual gifts are given to individuals within the church for the express purpose of encouraging and building up each person within the church. Alone we can be defeated. Together God blesses us.
-
Membership helps Sugar Grove's leadership know who is on this faith journey together.
-
Membership communicates to the rest of the congregation that you want them to have your back and in turn you will have their back.
-
Membership is a way to be used by God to help others.
About Membership:
-
Membership at Sugar Grove is entry into Christ centered community. It is a commitment to be recognized as a part of this community under the guidance of Sugar Grove’s elders and ministers. Membership helps the rest of the church get to know you and helps the leadership know who is a part. It is open to anyone who desires to be a part of the faith journey.
-
Membership does not indicate whether a person has received salvation. Salvation comes as a result of the grace of God, purchased by the blood of Jesus Christ, entered through faith, and expressed through baptism. It is the expectation of Sugar Grove’s leadership that each member will express their faith through a believer’s immersion baptism.

How do I become a member of Sugar Grove?
-
If you would like to learn more about Sugar Grove you may schedule a time to meet with a Sugar Grove minister or elder.
-
Express your interest in becoming a part of Sugar Grove by communicating with an elder or minister.
-
You can speak directly with an elder or minister, note your desire on an attendance card in the auditorium, call or email the church office, respond during the invitation on Sunday mornings, or complete the membership form below.
-
Participate in the Discovering Sugar Grove New Member Orientation.
-
This one hour session with a Sugar Grove minister helps the new member connect to and learn about their new church family as well as providing a mechanism that helps Sugar Grove learn about it's new members. Orientation sessions are scheduled directly with each new member. They are usually scheduled for Sunday mornings from 9:45 to 10:45 but can occur any time to fit into individual schedules.
