SUGAR GROVE MINISTRIES & SPECIAL EVENTS

Adult Education and Spiritual Growth
The goal of adult education at Sugar Grove is formation of each person into Christ-likeness. Adult classes (Bible Fellowship Groups) are offered Sundays at 9:45 AM. Classes are also offered Wednesdays at 6:30 PM and at other special times.

Benevolence Ministry
This ministry offers assistance to those in need.

Blood Drive
Blood Drives are held several times each year on Sunday mornings. You may donate for yourself or for others.

Children's Ministry
The goal of the Sugar Grove Children's Ministry is to offer a Christ centered nurturing environment for children and their families that encourages relationships with God and others. The Children's Ministry is coordinated by Sugar Grove's Children's Minister Kathy Cameron. The ministry serves children birth through 6th Grade offering classes and special events throughout the year including Kings Kids which is a Sunday morning Children's Worship time for children aged 2 thru kindergarten.

Christmas Eve Service
Each Christmas Eve the community is invited to share in a moving time to remember the Emmanuel who was born in a manger and changed the world.

Church Fellowships
The goals of church fellowships which occur throughout the year are to bring the church together for fellowship and celebration.

Computer Ministry
The Computer Ministry provides a very high quality computer system for the church and Christian School. The ministry builds and maintains the computer network and internet web sites.

Emergent Generations Ministry
This developing ministry seeks to connect the message of Jesus Christ to an emerging generation in a relevant and meaningful fashion.

Financial Freedom Ministry
The Financial Freedom Ministry is dedicated to teach a life based on God's word that will lead to prosperity, happiness and freedom from debt. The ministry helps those who are struggling with the burdens of debt to eliminate their debt and remain debt free through sound financial management.

Financial Stewardship
This ministry manages Sugar Grove's contributions and church budget.

Foreign Missions
The Missions Committee seeks to support missionaries throughout the world as they lift up the name of Jesus to people who have not had the opportunity to hear the Good News. Sugar Grove's foreign missionaries are:

• Dimas and Sandra Lopez in Santiago De Los Caballeros, Dominican Republic
• Becky and Richard Emperado in Cebu, Philippines
• Ivan and Carmen Martinez in Cordoba, Argentenia
• Doug & Lisa Simpson working with Lilia's Place in the Philippines

Friendspeak Ministry
This ministry uses the word of God to help people learn English.

Games Gang
This group meets at the church building to share in games and fellowship.

Hands of Christ
The Hands of Christ ministry seeks to be the "hands of Christ" to our community. This ministry is partnering with numerous area agencies so that through service to others we may show the love of Christ to our community. Hands of Christ operates Sugar Grove's food pantry which is affiliated with the Houston Food Bank as well as offering numerous opportunities to serve throughout our community.

Host Ministry
The goal of the Host Ministry is to make everyone - members and guests - feel comfortable, welcomed, accommodated, cared for, and loved by being available for members & guests throughout our building and at Grand Central.

Impact Church
The Impact Church is an inner city Houston ministry that Sugar Grove supports. This ministry serves many people in various ways including serving meals and providing Christmas presents & school supplies for children at Impact.

Life Groups
Life Groups are small groups that meet in homes throughout the region. These small groups of 5-10 adults and their children provide an opportunity for people to live life together as the body of Christ developing Godly relationships as a community brought together by the grace of God. Sugar Grove's Life Groups help us connect to God, each other, and the community.

Live Wires
Live Wires is a special ministry to our 5th and 6th graders under the direction of the Children's Ministry. This ministry offers classes on Sundays and Wednesdays as well as special activities and projects.

Men's Ministry
The mission of the men's ministry is to establish men as God's servants by teaching, training, and instructing leadership qualities that make them effective leaders in their families, their church, and their community.

Multi-Media Ministry
The Multi Media Ministry exists to enhance the worship assemblies. This ministry, under the direction of Van Perdue who works full time with ministry, works with the sound system, projection, video, placement of video and audio from Sunday assemblies on the church web site, announcements on the video monitors, and operation of the tape ministry which produces copies of the Sunday assemblies for those ordering tapes.

Outreach (Special Events)
This ministry coordinates large yearly outreach events; Easter, Treat in a Trunk, and Christmas Eve Service. These events connect to and serve many people in our community.

Prayer Ministry
The Prayer Ministry is a foundational ministry for Sugar Grove. This ministry has a large group of prayer warriors who continuously lift up prayer requests. The Prayer Ministry also coordinates special prayer times and prayer events.

Scouts
Sugar Grove sponsors scout troops that meet at the church building throughout the week.

Spanish Ministry
Sugar Grove's Spanish Ministry is a vibrant Spanish language congregation that is focused upon creating disciples of Christ who go out into their community and native countries to spread the message of Jesus Christ.

Spiritstage Ministry
Spiritstage makes Bible stories and applications of God's teachings come to life through drama and humor. Spiritstage also assists by making creative announcements, both live and on video, for special events and activities.

Stephen Ministry
The Stephen Ministry equips Sugar Grove members to provide distinctively Christian care for people who are experiencing difficulties in their life.

Sugar Grove Christian School
Sugar Grove Christian School offers an outstanding education experience for preschool through 6th grade children. The school exists to provide quality education in a Christian environment. The Christian staff is committed to helping each child grow in ways that Jesus grew. Students participate in an academic program which allows them to grow in wisdom and stature and to develop a positive relationship with one another and God.

Treat In A Trunk
Treat In a Trunk is a yearly community event that provides a safe way for our children to trick-or-treat. It is attended by approximately 3,000-5,000 each year.

Vacation Bible School
Each June Sugar Grove hosts a 'Vacation Bible School' that has something for everyone. Children have the opportunity to participate in exciting classes, a variety of events occur during the week for teens, adults have high quality relevant classes, and everyone has the opportunity to attend moving theatrical productions each evening.

Women's Ministry
The goal of the Women's Ministry is to grow in our relationships with God and with each other through relationships, Bible study, fellowship, involvement, and outreach. The Women's Ministry provides encouragement, involvement, and outreach, through special and social events. The ministry coordinates Bible Classes on Sunday and Wednesday mornings, an annual Ladies Retreat, Holiday in the Grove, Abundant Joy Women's Conference, plus many other items.

World Bible School
The World Bible School ministry seeks to spread God's word throughout the world using WBS provided materials, leading to the conversion of many into the Kingdom of our Lord.

Worship Ministry
The Worship Ministry is focused upon developing congregational worship experiences that draws our entire being into a focus upon God. This ministry coordinates our Sunday morning worship assemblies as well as other special occasions when the entire congregation is together.

Youth Ministry
The goal of Sugar Grove's Radiant Way Youth Ministry is to raise up young people who passionately live for Jesus Christ. This dynamic ministry is led by Josh Kasinger, Jason Toy, and a dedicated group of adults. Christian community focused upon Jesus is developed through many ways including the following events and activities: Sunday & Wednesday classes, retreats, camps, mission trips, service projects, teen Life Groups, plus many other exciting things.
