PRAYER
The Prayer Ministry at Sugar Grove is made of men and women who are seeking to draw closer to God through prayer. They claim no special powers or privileges other than the authority and power of Jesus Christ as He prays to the Father on the behalf of all His followers. These Christians have seen the power of God in the answers of prayers in their life. They have come to know God's love through the bountiful blessings He bestows; and they have seen His wisdom as He gives what is best rather than always what they want. Because of His great love and mercy, the brothers and sisters of the Prayer Ministry stand ready and willing to lift up petitions to the Father. These children of God humbly want to pray for anyone who has come to recognize their need for God's mercy and has opened their eyes to the blessing that comes from having others pray for themselves. The members of the Prayer Ministry invite you to share with us your prayer requests. It will be a privilege and honor to talk to God about your concerns. Below are passages that tell us of God's promises that we hold dear to our heart.
Matthew 7:7-8 - Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.
John 14:14 - You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.
Philippians 4:6-7 - Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
James 5:13-16 - Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.
Ephesians 3:20-21 - Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
