MEET OUR STAFF

Mark Howell - Pulpit Minister
Mark has been our pulpit minister since 1986. He is a graduate of Harding Graduate School of Religion and did his under-graduate work at the University of Texas. He and his wife, Karen, have two children. Karen teaches at Sugar Grove Christian School.

Richard Fancher - Associate Minister
Richard has been our Associate Minister since beginning work with Sugar Grove in 1982. He is a graduate of Harding University and has received his Masters in Religious Education from Abilene Christian University. He is married to Cynthia Fancher, the Financial Manager for Sugar Grove, and they have two sons, Jarrod and Stewart.

Tim Shoulders - Body Life Minister
Tim came on staff in August of 2003 as the Body Life Minister. He graduated from Abilene Christian University in 1990 with a Bible/ Youth and Family Ministry degree and graduated from Lubbock Christian University in 2005 with a Masters in Christian Ministry. He is married to Michelle (Barnett) Shoulders who is an Assistant Principal at Bellaire High School and together they have five children whom they have adopted from Russia.

Josh Kasinger - Worship & Youth Minister
Josh has been the worship minister since May of 2004. Before coming to Sugar Grove he served as the worship, youth and administrative minister at the Hope Church of Christ in Abilene, TX, following his graduation from Harding University in 2001. While in Abilene, Josh met and married his beautiful wife Whitney. Josh's enthusiasm and energy for teenagers and worship reveals the zeal that is within his heart for the Lord. Josh and Whitney have two children, Jordan Riley and Ella Paige.

Kathy Cameron - Children's Minister
Kathy has been on staff as our Children's Minister since 1998. She is a graduate of the University of Texas Nursing school and has been active in children's programs since the early 1980's. Kathy completed a Masters of Children and Family Ministry from Bethel Seminary in the spring of 2007. Her husband, Jeff, is President of The J D Cameron Group. They have three sons and one daughter.

Darlene Willis - Outreach Minister
Darlene became part of Sugar Grove staff in February 2008. As the Outreach minister she works with private and government agencies in the area as well as directly with individuals. Darlene coordinates an enthusiastic group of volunteers in several programs. She is a graduate of Lamar University and has been a Licensed Social Worker for 14 years. Darlene and her husband, Glenn, have two sons. Glenn works in the oil and gas industry.

Van Perdue - Media Coordinator
As a volunteer, Van began working with media at Sugar Grove in 1982. In 2005, Van joined the staff as a full-time member. His responsibilities include supervising all activities at the building needing sound, video, projection, and lighting equipment. His slogan is "Don't just say it, express it!" His goal is to enhance the worship experience through the use of media. Van coordinates a large group of dedicated volunteers and is always looking for others if you are interested.

Payton Bartee - Youth Ministry Intern
Payton joined the staff in May of 2008 as a year-round youth ministry intern. Hailing from Denver, Payton works with the teens while continuing his college education in Houston. Before relocating to the Houston are, he was a student at Harding University, majoring in history with hopes of one day becoming a history teacher. An avid fan of all things sports and movies, Payton loves using pop culture, media, and today's technology to show Christ to teens.

Cynthia Fancher - Financial Manager
Cynthia has been a staff member for over 15 years. She manages all financial matters for the church. She works with the finance committee, consisting of five very dedicated members. She enjoys reading and sitting on the beach. She and her husband, Richard, have two grown children and four grandchildren.

Matt McVey - Property and Facilities Manager
Matt is a charter member of Sugar Grove. He joined the staff in 2007. He and his wife, Kim, have five children.

Annette Woodard - Office Manager⁄Administrative Assistant
Annette has been a part of the Sugar Grove congregation for 34 years and on staff for 24 years. Prior to joining the Sugar Grove staff she worked in the airline industry and was a stay-at-home mom for 10 years. Annette has taught in the Children's Department, worked with the Women's Ministry, has gone to camp with the children, and on mission trips with the teens. She loves to quilt and read in her spare time. Her husband, Wendell, a retired design draftsman, is a Sugar Grove Worship Deacon. They have two children and four grandchildren.

Glenda McGaughey - Receptionist
Glenda has been a staff member since June of 1999. Glenda does way more than answer phones, handling all aspects of the office operations. Glenda is an active member of Williams Trace Baptist Church. She and her husband, Philip, have two grown daughters and one grandson. Glenda also has a miniature schnauzer named Mac whom she claims is the smartest dog in the world.
