We wrap our series on True and Better discussing Esther. As she risked he life for her people, we are reminded that Jesus gave his life for us.


Jesus is the True and Better Jonah, who displays in himself the God who is a "gracious and compassionate God, slow to anger and abounding in love, a God who relents from sending calamity."


Jesus is the True and Better David, who defeats the goliaths in our life on our behalf and like David, his victory wecan count as our own.

Week 6: True and Better: Moses

Jesus is the True and Better Moses, the mediator who leads a people out of slavery and into the freedom of Grace. Therefore, we must be careful to not follow the Israelites and replace the one who offers us freedom with idols we create by our own hands.

Week 5: True and Better: Joseph

The forgiveness Joseph offers his brothers is nothing compared to the forgiveness we have through Jesus.

Week 4: True and Better: Abraham and isaac

Jesus is the True and Better Abraham and Isaac. As Tim Keller says, "Jesus is the true and better Isaac who was not just offered up by his father on the mount but was truly sacrificed for us. And when God said to Abraham, “Now I know you love me because you did not withhold your son, your only son whom you love from me,” now we can look at God taking his son up the mountain and sacrificing him and say, “Now we know that you love us because you did not withhold your son, your only son, whom you love from us.”"

Week 3: True and Better: noah

Jesus is the True and Better Noah, righteous in a corrupt world who then offers himself as the living "ark" of salvation.

Week 2: True and Better: Adam

Jesus is the True and Better Adam, who passes the test in the garden when we fail.

"For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!" - Romans 5:17
